Tractors In Love
February is the month that we focus on our many loves in life. Most often we reserve our closet affinities for the people in our lives. Many of us however have overly powerful passions for hobbies, pro sports, power tools, equipment and toys with all manner of capabilities. My nephew Brian currently has a few incongruous loves in his life. Several years ago he bought the original family farm to rejuvenate its charm and to maintain ownership as a descendant. He also adores and restores farm tractors and loves driving them when "hitched" to a hefty rake, plow or hay wagon.
If you look closely when you drive by his farm on Dakota Creek you see signs of his most recent love. Between the two big tractors parked and angled to appear as if they are cuddling each other you will see a lighted Valentine heart. This heart represents the return of the true love in his life from nearly 15 years ago. As in many first loves it takes a second try a few years down the road to clear up the misconceptions and the missed connections. Following his heart and his desire to also "get hitched," he and Shannon are lovingly making their home together down on the farm.
When we reach out and embrace our neighbors we see pictures that enhance everyday life in our own international community.
